Hayden Carter has insisted Blackburn Rovers will not allow the feeling of a relegation battle to happen again next season.

Rovers know a point away at Leicester City will ensure they remain in the Championship for another season. Their fate is in their own hands, albeit with a tough assignment against the newly-crowned Champions.

Carter gave an open and honest interview on the downward spiral of the season, his own form and Rovers' final-day challenge. He also opened up on the dressing room mood about being in relegation battle.

He insisted that they will now allow this scenario to happen again, pinpointing the sinking feeling they've had after matches.

"I think we'll improve massively, more for the fact that we know how we have felt after games this season," he told The Lancashire Telegraph.

"We don't want to be this close to the relegation zone, we don't want that again. If we can have a full pre-season and get a few weeks to get the manager's ideas, I think we can avoid this feeling.

"We've had too many games this year where we have come in thinking 'How have we not won that' or 'We have to do much better'. None of us want that feeling again."
