The only decision taken is not to make any decisions

I used to pray I’d get stuck in a lift with my reverend boss and chat how we might best keep his feet from entering his bewhiskered orifice, and how church decision-making skills might best be improved.
It’s churlishly unchristian of me, I know, for what right has a sinner to tell another sinner – and an archbishop to boot – what, and what not, to do, especially as ‘moi’ is now a lowly ex-vicar (retired) crafting a column which has a knack of placing foot and mouth in perilous proximity.
I’ve honestly tried to be good, but it’s been half a decade since a gay bishop was enthroned without any decisive action. It took two decades to get women supervising churches, and it’ll be two decades later before one can ‘bishop’ a bunch of parishes.
And isn’t an archbishop supposed to tell the nation that Jesus is the way the truth and the life (John 14), rather than this week explain how we should not do anything to offend other faiths after suggesting we give Sharia law a whirl?
If anybody ran anything avoiding so many decisions would we not expect anarchy, which is possibly what we’ve got this week.
My boss has gathered the world’s Anglicans together at Lambeth and the only decision taken is not to make any decisions.
No debates; no votes; just a training walk around Lambeth.
As a result, a third of the bishops have gone elsewhere.
“Oh, Lord, give us a lift and save us from ourselves.”

It makes no difference to me whatsoever if they nominate Gay bishops or even a gay ABoC,women can do any jobe they wish and one day we may even have a woman ABoC,who knows.
The reason for my apathy is that the CoE imo does NOT represent christianity as i feel it should be represented,i know and expect you to disagree with this.
They will never split this organisation and ther is only problem,not that the bible completly and clearly states its oppinions on homosexuals,wether that is right or wrong is of no concequence here,but the problem in question is, they fear that the organisation will split up if the right decision isnt took,and the right decision for the organisation is to allow gay bishops to be part of the hierarchy,a very ungodly approach imo but the right one as far as the organisation is concerned,we need the brass from the good old US of A ya know.(wink)

It was particularly enlightening to hear the comments of Archbishop Deng of Sudan regarding a gay American bishop. Like there is nothing else in Sudan for the archbishop to wory about (well except for the above mention genocide, famine and war).
You have to wonder what Jesus would make of the current priorities of the church today.

When it comes to spreading utter confusion, 2000 years and twelve or more Max Cliffords later it has certainly managed to become a brand leader on a global scale.
Lord, please make a come-back and re-introduce our Human selves to our Truest Selves.

Only the rich can afford the christianity that most of our so called churches offer,no doubt this will not be seen by the insiders of those churches,but that is the very reason, why they are all failing.
Take Islam i dont know the rights or wrongs of this religion but one thing i do know,and that is it does appear to be all inclusive,rich or poor are treat in exactly the same way,that is good imo.there is still and allways as been a heirarchy even in our congregations never mind so called leaders,best seats in the house you might say..lol
Oh and you sound just like my Mrs James,she reckons its a good job that she goes through my e-mails and letters before they go off some of my spelling is embarrasing,but at least i can reckon up,and tbh in my game that is more important..(wink)

I agree, Dogma is Dogma. Who has the best Dogma, who has the right Dogma, who has the wrong Dogma is not the REAL Issue.
The Truth is, whatever your Religion, rich or poor, young or old, well dressed or scruffy, full of wisedom or a useless thicko.
You're Beautiful, and there is something really Beautiful 'inside' of you.
And that's what makes you Beautiful.
Great Saint or A Doomed Speller. Even if you are the baddest speller in the whole Universe.
It is that Beauty 'inside' of you that really counts.

The Clarity of seeing which is singular must be sought.

I thought that was the point of having the 'manual'. It removes the necessity for independent thought and investigation and encourages us not to be curious as to the nature and original source of God.
Where does God get all his power from? It's not from e-on is it?
