FURIOUS John Coleman has launched a stinging attack on Bury manager Chris Casper and his players following the Shakers' controversial late winner at Gigg Lane.

Coleman remonstrated with Casper at the final whistle after Bury failed to kick the ball out to allow treatment for Andy Procter, who was lying injured inside the Bury box.

Instead, with full permission of the referee, they played on and subsequently scored.

But Coleman blasted what he believed was a lack of fair play.

He said: "The second goal is bad defending, but it's unforgivable what's happened. The referee hasn't allowed us to get treatment, I know their manager's under pressure and I think it was absolutely scandalous the way they started calling for his head as soon as Paul Mullin's goal hit the back of the net.

"But in my eyes there's ethics and morals you should follow in football and I've been brought up the right way to follow them, and no matter what pressure you're under you shouldn't do it.

"We had a lad lying prostrate on the edge of the box and the keeper chooses to kick the ball over him.

"I know we're a better side than what Bury are and I'm sure that will be bourne out by the final standings in the league table.

"I've made me feelings known in no uncertain terms that I think what they did for the second goal was unacceptable and I would never have my team doing that even if it meant winning. I'd sooner have the draw and be able to sleep at night."
