THE funeral of Sophie Lancaster will be held this morning.
The 20-year-old, who died after being attacked in Stubbylee Park, Bacup, in August, will be remembered with a humanist ceremony at the Riverside Centre, Market Street, Whitworth.
Police believe she and her boyfriend Robert Maltby, who survived the attack, were targeed because of their "goth" style of dress.
People from all over the country are expected to attend, after Sophie's family extended an open invitation to help support their campaign Sophie (Stamp Out Hatred and Intolerance Everywhere).
Five youths have been charged with Sophie's murder, and they will go on trial at Preston Crown Court on March 10.
