Cinema project showing tonight
CINEMA lovers in Laneshawbridge are being asked to support a new rural film project which premieres tonight.
Laneshawbridge Methodist Chapel, Keighley Road, is the venue for the new community cinema initiative.
And the Hollywood cartoon blockbuster Ratatouille has been lined up for the opening night by organisers.
The showing has been funded by a £340 grant from Lancashire county councillor Mike Calvert and follows on from a similar project in Trawden.
Parish councillor Paul White said: "It is quite a big event for the village and we are hoping that people will support it.
"It is quite a distance to the nearest cinema, which would probably be two bus journeys away in Burnley.
"And in Laneshawbridge at times the buses are only every two hours."
The success of the event will be gauged before any future showings are planned.
Tickets are £1 and doors open at 6pm.
