AN EARLY morning flasher is being hunted by police after exposing himself at passing vehicles in a spate of incidents.

The man has been spotted on several occasions in a bus stop on Blackburn Road, at the boundary of Accrington and Oswaldtwistle.

Police are now urging anyone who sees him to call them immediately.

Lancashire Telegraph delivery driver Lea Fletcher was shocked to see the man twice in the past three weeks while carrying out his early morning rounds.

Mr Fletcher, 45, said: "I saw him a few weeks ago at about 5am and I thought it was bit odd for someone to be waiting in a bus stop at that time.

"Then I saw he had his pants down and his top pulled up and was exposing himself to the few people that were driving by.

"He was still there when I drove back past after I had finished my delivery.

"I phoned the police straight away but I never heard anything back from them.

"I thought maybe they had given him a talking to but then I saw him again yesterday."

Mr Fletcher added: "As I pulled up at a shop, he came out of the bus stop and started to walk towards me.

"He was putting on a bit of a show. But as soon as I got out of the van he pulled up his trousers and ran off.

"He is playing to a limited audience at that time but it is still worrying to think who could walk or drive past him.

"I'm a bloke in a van - what might happen if it was a young girl walking past?"

The man has been described as in his 20s and wearing a tracksuit.

Sgt Ian Corbett, Accrington police, said police had acted on reports of a flasher and had carried out a patrol of the area after the first incident.

He added: "If anyone sees someone exposing themselves they should call us immediately so we are able to get there before they leave the scene.

"It is not a pleasant thing for someone to have to experience and we would advise people not to approach this man, but contact officers straight away."
