McGuigan is one of the big, well-known, mass-market brand names in the Aussie wine world and not without good reason.
This is a medium-bodied Shiraz which is easy to drink at 13.5 per cent alcohol (not the sherry-strength stuff you can practically stir with a spoon!) and very reasonably priced.
There are red berries galore with a hint of pepper and spice - a typical product of its Hunter Valley home.
McGuigan Black Label Shiraz 2006, £5.99 and £6.99, Co-op and Threshers
