Darwen dancers are morris majors

Morris dancers from Darwen were crowned world champions at a competition at Blackpool Tower.
Four sections of the troupe – babies, tinies, seniors and tots – all won their respective categories but the seniors went one step further and won the Senior Challenge out of 30 other troupes to win the world title.
The seniors include dancers in their 50s. Lindsay Taylor, of Darwen Morris Dancers, said: “It’s an outstanding achievement and they should be acknowledged for it.
"The Senior Challenge had been mentioned for about nine months and they practised constantly for it."
