Booze seized in Blackburn underage drinking crackdown

ALMOST 40 cans and bottles of lager and over four litres of Vodka have been seized as part of a crackdown on anti social behaviour and underage drinking in Blackburn.

Over the last four months, the neighbourhood policing team seized approximately 20 cans of premium lager and 12 cans of super strength lager along with six bottles of Stella Artois lager, four litres of Vodka and ten litres of fruit juice mixed with Vodka.

All were taken from young people in the Daisyfield Estate area of Blackburn.

Officers also seized a Huka smoking pipe, issued six youth referrals forms and arrested two youngsters for public order offences.

Community Beat Manager PC Emma Turner said: "Youngsters who congregate in large groups drinking alcohol are disrupting the quality of life for local people. The neighbourhood policing team carry out regular highly visible patrols in areas which have been identified by members of the community and I hope that this will act as a warning to troublemakers that underage drinking and anti social behaviour will not be tolerated.

"Regular confiscation of alcohol is just one of many tactics used by the police to make our communities safer and more pleasant places to live and work."

A Youth Referral is a form which is given to a child when he or she is stopped by the police. The child is told to give the form to his or her parents so the parents know that they have been stopped and spoken to by the police. This is then followed up with by letter home explaining the reason their child was stopped. The letter encourages parents to speak to their child about the incident. If the child receives a second referral form within six months police will usually visit the child at home with their parents. Police will offer assistance and advice at this stage. If the child receives a third referral, a multi agency meeting will be set up involving the child, the parents, the school and education welfare and any other interested agencies to find a way forward.

Iam 1 of those so called 'troublemakers' and all we do is have a little bit of a drink, no anti social behaviour or any trouble we are not 'troublemakers' because we don't go round causing trouble like some kids we are not doing anything wrong apart from having a laugh.
God concentrate on something serious, wow kids having a laugh get the police find the real criminals!

Were only kids, we just like to have a good time, police seem to be bothered about kids drinking and thats hardly anything, i got hit off an asian lad a couple of month ago, had 3 stiches in my mouth, nothing got done about that, yet a few kids are on the streets drinking and they go mental, people get done for drinking, what about people whoa re getting beat up every weekend, concentrate on them, instead of us

we are all still expierencing and enjoying our youth, so why try and take this away from us. its not like were all into drugs or anything. its just harmless drink that we tend to have on a weekend after our stressful and hard days at school. everyone needs a break and enjoyment in there lifes. alcholol is a social drink, that is enjoyed by everyone. so why take it away from us. its not like we get paraletic, if we do then we all take care of one an another, we are a cru, wer the mighty JJB cru x Jsg, Jsb, Bsb!x you may think were all stupid and young, but were not, you would no that if you knew us properly. we all need al little compremise in our lifes. so im proposing this. why dont a few vlountary police officers have a random drink with us all, and see for yourselves that we are not stupid in what we do.

If people don't like underage drinking in streets, then they have every right to police action taken against the youths if the behaviour is/or gets rowdy and/or gets upsetting. I bet ALL you kids would say the same dogooding defence about underage purchase/misuse of fireworks in public and publicplaces;
(a)we're under 18,
(b)we have the right to get them illegally even if we are breaking the law doing so(we're NOT causing any problems doing so either),
(c)we have the right to possess them ourselves under 18 in public places and or discharge/misuse them even though the law says we shouldn't.
Ah, but the law says you CAN'T possess adult fireworks in publicplaces or discharge them in publicplaces,
the law says you CAN'T get them under18 nor attempt to purchase them,
and you CAN'T set them off after 11pm at night.

its the police's fault the neighbours are complaining ! we all stay on the big field and the police come and moce us into daisyfield astate wich just causes arguments with neighbours ! they promised us a new cage and a youth club to be open ! as it happened ? Well I hope the police prosecute ALL your parents and they end up in jail through your underage drinking because they are quite basically unfit to parent misfits who let you lot underage drink and break laws you're not supposed to. When I was a kid when I was caught drinking/obtaining and misusing fireworks underage by my parents many years ago I got a damned good hiding/pasting/a clip round the ear and a damned good slapping by my mum and dad. Today that is something you kids ALL lack,and are somewhat short of along with some very,very strict discipline,because your parents are lazy idle dogooders who don't control what their kids do NOR keep an eye on what you lot get up to and they don't punish you for coming home drunk or being brought home by the police!!!!!!!!!

I am confused. Yes there is a problem with underage drinking. But also with adult drinking. In my country hashish does not cause these problems.

One concern though - it seems that in Daisyfield they have no schools. Not one person commenting on this issue from Daisyfield can spell or punctuate.

The message is - no to beer - yes to hashish.
And leave the kids alone. The kids are alright.

Er my parents are NOT harsh for what they did;is it acceptable for teenage sons/daughters to ruin the house and for brothers to sell off what doesn't belong to them?
