Two brothers who hadn't seen each other for eight years were reunited when they were placed in neighbouring police station cells.
But the family get-together was short lived as one of the brothers, aged 16, was remanded to a young offender institute and the other, aged 20, was jailed for six-and-a-half months by Blackburn magistrates.
Aftab Bakhat, who represented both brothers, one on a charge of assault and the other for affray arising out of totally separate incidents, said they had not seen each other eight years and had been surprised to find themselves in the cells at the same time.
