A PIONEERING service for people with vision problems is set to tour East Lancashire during September.

Charity Action for Blind People’s mobile sight loss information service will visit Blackburn, Haslingden, Burnley and Great Harwood, offering advice and support for blind and partially-sighted people.

The mobile carries the latest technology and gadgets to improve day-to-day life for the sightless, from vibrating bank note detectors to talking microwaves and tin lids.

The mobile will be at Audley Sports Centre, Blackburn, from 10am to noon on Tuesday, September 16, and between 2pm and 4pm that day at Haslingden Community Link centre on Bury Road.

And the following day the service travels to the Asda store, on Princess Way, Burnley, from 10am to noon, before attending the town’s Temple Street Resource Centre from 2pm to 4pm.

The mobile will also visit the Co-op on Queen Street, Great Harwood, between 10am and 4pm on Thursday, September 18.
