Fire crews were called to Oswaldtwistle Mills when a toddler became trapped in a car.

The two-year-old’s mother panicked when a gust of wind shut the door of her car outside the shopping complex, locking the youngster inside at noon on Friday.

Firefighters were called but a relative arrived with a spare key before they had to cut him out.

Unbelievable. Why cal the fire brigade if the relative was on the way? And if the relative was not on the way, call the AA or smash a window. I guess the parent would rather the fire brigade did it because it wouldn't cost anything (never mind what it costs the taxpayer)?

"...before they had to cut him out. "

Maybe I'm missing something? Just how "trapped" was he?

Mr Jones, for the record;
1. This tot was my son and he was with his Nanna - not his mother - as written in the article.
2. She does not know who called the fire brigade - it certainly wasn't her.
3. Her AA details were locked in the car also - so she was unable to call them.
4. The relative was with her at the time- not 'on the way'.
5. The fire brigade did not want to cause him distress by smashing the window - he is only 2 years old.

Sometimes articles do not give the full details!!!
