Oswaldtwistle accident boy, 13, 'progressing'

A 13-year-old boy who was seriously injured when he was struck by a car in Oswaldtwistle on November 28 is making “good progress”, police have revealed.

Corey Taylor was been transferred to a normal ward at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury after more than a week in intensive care.

Sgt Mick Young of road policing said Corey was in a comfortable condition and was able to communicate with staff at the hospital.

No matter what this young boy was doing at the time does he really deserve to be run over, no he doesnt, stop critisising and put yourselfs in the parents shoes at this traumatic time.Kids are kids and will always do things we tell them not to sometimes so have a heart.

my son witnessed the accident and has confirmed to me that they were not playing chicken and Corey unfortunately did just step off the pavement and the poor man that was driving the car did not have time to stop. Let's just remember that he is just a child.
