A MAN was rescued by a neighbour when a fire started in the kitchen of his Rishton home.
Firefighters said the man, of Talbot Street, had been out drinking, and begun to cook food when he arrived home at 1am, but had fallen asleep.
A spokesman for Accrington fire station said a neighbour had noticed the blaze and woken the man, who escaped with no injuries, though the kitchen was very badly damaged.
