RESIDENTS in Rishton are warned to be on guard after a woman was a victim of a distraction burglary.

Police said a woman in Harwood Road was visited by a bogus official last Wednesday who claimed he was at her home to do some plumbing.

He pretended to work on some taps then stole a bag, which contained a wallet with credit cards worth a total of £250, as he left.

He is white, around 18, and of medium build.

He had short hair and was wearing an earring.

Contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45.
