A former self-employed builder died of lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, an inquest was told.
The inquest heard that James Kay, of Ellesmere Avenue, Colne, regularly came into contact with asbestos and would often come home from work covered in dust.
The 68-year-old was diagnosed with lung cancer in October 2004 and died the following May the court heard.
East Lancashire coroner Richard Taylor recorded a verdict Mr Kay died as the result of an industrial disease.
