A TEENAGE girl was allegedly raped in a Burnley street as she walked home from a friend's house.
Detectives today said they were investigating the youngster's claims.
The girl, 15, was walking along Ivy Street, off Colne Road, when she was approached by two men who started talking to her, police have been told.
She claims she was then taken into a back street and raped.
The incident was reported to police at shortly before 11pm on Friday.
Two teenage boys aged 16 and 18 were arrested this morning in connection with the alleged incident and were due to be interviewed by police today.
The girl was taken to the SAFE Centre in Preston where she was examined by specialist medical staff. She was due to be interviewed by detectives today.
Police also carried out forensic examinations at the scene of the alleged incident.
A police spokesman said: "We have received an allegation of a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl and we have launched an investigation. Two people are currently in custody in connection with the inquiry and our investigations are continuing."
