A MUM who lifted the lid on a sex ring which abused her daughter has been left terrified after her car was almost run off the road.

Police are investigating the incident, which the woman believes was retribution after she revealed to the Telegraph how her 15-year-old child was groomed for sexual exploitation.

The mother-of-three, who lives in the Grimshaw Park area of Blackburn, said she had been repeatedly intimidated by gangs of men since she spoke out against the groups of Asian men who were using local children for sex.

Her revelations helped prompt the Telegraph's Keep Them Safe campaign, calling for increased action over the problem, and resulted in Asian community leaders introducing measures to tackle the situation.

Jean (not her real name) said she was now so fearful of what these men will do next that she was being forced to move house to protect herself and her other two daughters.

Jean said that the harassment had intensified since she revealed earlier this month how her daughter, a former Blakewater College pupil, had been groomed by Asian males who offered her alcohol, drugs and gifts in exchange for sex.

Lindsey's (not her real name) story came to light as part of a Lancashire Telegraph investigation which discovered that in the last year up to 100 girls aged between 12 and 16 in East Lancashire were lured away from home and exploited for sex by gangs of men, who were predominantly Asian.

She said: "I have been followed a number of times now, like with cars right behind me, with full beam on, but the last time was really frightening.

"I was just driving through Audley when a silver people carrier with blacked-out windows started following me.

"They got closer and closer and kept running into my bumper and flashing their lights at me.

"They then tried to push me off the road. I was too frightened to stop and I don't know how I didn't crash but somehow I got home.

"I was really shook up. What they were doing was really dangerous.

"I could have been killed or I could have mounted the kerb and knocked someone over.

"I just thought that they were really trying to kill me. It was just like something out of a film."

Jean said she could make out five Asian males in the car and said that as they drove off they wound down their windows and laughed at her.

She also claimed she has previously been followed both on foot and in her car and was harassed and jeered outside the town's Vue Cinema.

She said her two other children had also been followed.

She added: "These people are cowards and bullies. They only pick on and intimidate women.

"I told my daughter what they had done to me but she said she didn't believe me their control over her is so strong.

"They try and turn these girls against their families and I wouldn't be surprised if she knew what had happened to me anyway.

"I have not been out in the car since this happened on my own and I have had to have my partner with me constantly.

"I still don't regret speaking out against these scumbags but seeing what my daughter is going through revealed in the paper has been heartbreaking.

"I have cried so much that my eyes are red and my face is swollen but I will not stop in trying to get my daughter back.

"And I will not be stopped by these disgusting soul takers and perverts."

A spokesman for Lancashire police said: "We can confirm that this incident was reported to us and that it was claimed a silver vehicle was involved.

"This is a very serious incident and an investigation is being carried out."
