THREE wanted men from East Lancashire are being urged to hand themselves in to avoid spending Christmas behind bars.

Lancashire Constabulary is searching for Dean Bibby, 20, whose last known address was Lynwood Road, Blackburn.

He is wanted on warrant after he failed to comply with a community order.

Shaun Alan Wilkinson, 20, who has been seen in the Mill Hill area of Blackburn, has been ordered to return to jail for offences including robbery and possession of drugs with the intent to supply.

And Miguel Jose Talamantis, 28, whose last known address was Tonnacliffe Terrace, Whitworth, or Birtwistle Avenue, Colne, has been recalled to prison in connection with a conviction for wounding with intent.

Inspector John Clucas from the Lancashire Constabulary’s Criminal Justice Department said: “There are fewer court dates over the holiday period so if someone is arrested they may find themselves spending longer in police custody to go before a court.

“If anyone has a warrant outstanding, be that for failing to appear, breach of a community penalty or even just a non payment matter, I would recommend them to sort it out now before we catch up with them or they may face the prospect of having a not so merry Christmas behind bars.”

Recalled to prison, failed to comply with community order, ordered to return to jail.

What a joke! Community sentences are a get out of jail free card and even if a custodial sentence is handed down, the scumbags know that they will only serve half (or less if there is no room at the Inn!).

We should treat this filth with the contempt that they treat us. Maybe then they might be scared to go to prison and think twice before dealing drugs, committing robbery or wounding like these idiots.

Economic Downturn + Weak Justice System = Hell. Not only will we be losing income, we will be bled dry by Rip Off Britain and then have to live in fear of being robbed for the little we have left.

We need to scare this sum into order and bang them up for long enough to make it hurt (without early release!!!). If the prisons are full, bring back corporal punishment!

I've also said it many times Ian.

corpral punishment might be the only way to slow down or reverse the current demise of our society.

There's nothing to fear anymore

Corporal punishment can be used as a political tool of coercion. Millions have been tortured and executed over time. It also enhances our culture of violence. This is why people fought, even died, for its abolition. We need a new perspective, a new beginning, not a retrogressive shift backwards.

Society is degenerating, I agree, but weneed to tackle the conditions that produce this type of society. Otherwise, we're back to the dark ages.

Corporal Punishment is physical punishment (ie the cane at school). What we need to bring back to stop the rot in today's society is Capital Punishment (the death sentence). Why should the taxpayer support murderers etc when we now have technology such as cctv and dna which can be prove guilt without a doubt.
That would free up space in prisons and serve as the ultimate deterent, we should also adopt America's "three stikes" system wheras repeat offenders would spend a very lenghty term behind bars on their third visit.
Of course I'm being naive, this would breach the scum of society's human rights.
It's time for the masses to stand up and ask "what about the human rights of the victims!"
