OLYMPIC hero Steven Burke switched on the Christmas lights last night in his home town.
Colne Town Council has been awarded £4,850 to pay for the switch-on event as well as a range of other weekend activities.
And as well as meeting the Olympic bronze medal-winning cyclist, the crowds who turned out to watch the event were treated to performances by artists and bands.
