PLANS to improve roadside bus stops between Colne and West Craven have been put on the back burner due to funding problems.
Under the Colne Quality Bus Route initiative, Lancashire County Council transport chiefs had pledged to upgrade key stops.
Proposals had been outlined to install raised boarding areas, CCTV coverage, new information displays and better footpaths leading up to stops.
But the Lancashire Local Pendle committee has been told the improvements have been postponed until the next financial year because of budgetary pressures within the county’s Local Transport Plan.
Earby bus station and the Station Road and Fernlea Avenue terminal in Barnoldswick have been upgraded.
Works are ongoing between Padiham Memorial Gardens and Colne town centre.
