A CHILDREN'S nursery will be releasing 100 pink balloons in honour of a worker who lost her battle with breast cancer.
Sarah Leach, of Wheatley Lane, Fence, lost a six-year battle with the disease last Tuesday - a fortnight after her 30th birthday.
Walton Lane Children's Centre, where the former Primet High pupil worked for four years as school secretary, will be releasing the balloons in memory of Sarah on June 6 at 10am on the grounds of the centre.
Sarah, who lived with her fiance Glen Hargreaves, raised thousands of pounds for breast cancer last year after walking the Great Wall of China with a friend.
Head teacher Audrey Wilson paid tribute to the devoted member of staff'. She said: "She was instrumental in supporting the school develop into the children's centre we see today.
"She worked tirelessly so the children and families of Walton Lane got the very best.
"We will never forget Sarah and we will be holding an annual event for her in May."
Parents Chris and Ruth Leach and fiance Glen will be at the service, which is open to everyone.
A funeral will be held at St Thomas Church, Barrowford, on Wednesday.
