WITH a waist size measuring 59inches and chest 56ins Dave Wynne says he's Burnley's biggest supporter in more ways than one.

So big in fact, that Burnley FC's kit maker has custom made a shirt for the super-sized fan.

The 58-year-old, of Kiddrow Lane, who weighs 23 stone, has received a specially-made Burnley away shirt to fit his huge frame.

And Errea, who produce the kit at Turf Moor as well as at Middlesbrough, say the 12XL top is the biggest they have ever made.

Dave, who is a diabetic and is registered disabled, is a season ticket holder in the Jimmy McIlroy stand.

He has followed the Clarets for 50 years and regularly buys himself a new top at the start of the season.

But this year he ran into trouble when the Italian kit company did not make one that fit him.

He said: "I don't like the tops to be figure-hugging and clinging to people. I prefer to be able to move around in my shirt."

The father-of-two said he had always been quite big and admitted to "comfort eating" and had slimmed down to a measly 11-and-a-half stone, but personal problems saw the weight pile back on again.

Luckily staff at Turf Moor came to his rescue and contacted the kit supplier directly to see if they could help. Dave was given his top free of charge courtesy of Burnley FC.

Fabrizio Taddei, export manager with Errea, said: "The main problem in the manufacturing process of a big shirt was to take out a new cutting programme with the computer."

Dave added: "I've never had an away shirt for years since I put the weight back on. They only make very big sizes in the home shirt.

"I like the yellow colour, I'll stand out more although I stand out whatever I do."
